( Of this season )

Mabon teaches the discipline of gratitude even as the days grow shorter. This is the season to inventory the year, give thanks, and prepare your spirit for the descent into Samhain's depths.

Ancestral Note

Honors the wise crones and the Iyalode — the gatherers of community and harvest.

The Gratitude Inventory

  1. 01

Write down every harvest of this year — material and spiritual.

  2. 02

For each, name one person, ancestor, or force you give thanks to.

  3. 03

Eat an apple slowly and with attention.

  4. 04

Release one thing you no longer need to carry.

  5. 05

Light an orange candle and let it burn down to nothing.

( Affirmations )

Speak these aloud.

  • "I am abundant and I am balanced."
  • "Gratitude is my anchor and my wing."
  • "I release what cannot enter the dark with me."
( Journal Prompts )

Sit with these.

  • What am I most grateful for this year?
  • What am I being asked to release before winter?
  • Where is my life out of balance, and what would right it?
